Alice Walton School of Medicine (AWSOM)

Alice Walton School of Medicine is a nonprofit founded by philanthropist Alice Walton. The new 154,000-square-foot facility in Bentonville, AR, offers a 4-year MD program focusing on training students to serve underserved communities. The school’s design, by Polk, Stanley, Wilcox Architects, incorporates whole health principles, featuring extensive outdoor spaces like a 2-acre rooftop park, a healing garden, and connection to nature through trails and ponds, all situated near the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. AWSOM welcomed its inaugural class of 48 in July 2025.
